Neves Presentation at Philosophy, Politics and Economics Workshop in Braga, Portugal
February 6-7, 2025 – Catarina Neves together with her co-author Elena Icardi (CEPS – University of Minho), presented their paper ‘Algorithmic and worker domination: what is specific about it?’ at the Philosophy, Politics and Economics Workshop ‘A grim future for workers? Technological developments and work-related domination’ in University of Minho, Braga, Portugal.
The paper discusses the recent concept of algorithmic domination, arguing that the use of algorithms in gig and platform work changes the nature of structural power exercised over workers, but also the configuration of relationship of domination.
